Outreach

The Mt. Zion United Methodist Church members are very active not only within the church but also in our community. It is so important to give to others so that they may help others too.

Food Cart Sunday
Food is collected the first Sunday of each month by our congregation. The non-perishable, unexpired food items are given to our Mt. Zion Food Pantry which is located on our church property known as Jody’s Place. Members of the church also volunteer to work the Food Pantry every third Saturday from 9:00 am to noon.

Mission Trips & Projects
The Mt. Zion United Methodist Men’s Group have the opportunity to be involved in various mission projects and trips.

Mt. Zion Chamber EXPO & Taste
Early spring, the church has been an exhibitor at this community-wide event. We hope to meet new people who may not have a church family and are looking for one. We would love to meet you and your family if you are looking as well.

Mt. Zion Community Ice Cream Social
It is held annually at the beginning of June. Four area churches work together to raise funds for Mt. Zion residents who struggle with excessive medical bills due to extreme health issues. Our church partners are: Mt. Zion Presbyterian Church, Antioch Christian Church and Our Lady of the Holy Spirit Catholic Church.

Vacation Bible School
Every summer a special theme is chosen that will teach them more about Jesus and God our Father. Children of all ages are welcome to attend and you do not need to be a church member. Children will learn through music, games and activities.

Red Cross Blood Drives
Two times a year, we plan a community-wide Red Cross Blood Drive. This is hosted with Our Lady of the Holy Spirit Catholic Church. The location of the blood drives rotate between the two churches.

Mt. Zion Chamber of Commerce Prayer Breakfast
Every fall, all of the local churches come together at the Mt. Zion Convention Center. The community is invited to come and enjoy a hot breakfast, a guest speaker and submit prayer requests to the clergy.
