Advent is a season of waiting, but what are we waiting for? What might happen when our expectations go unmet?

This year we are tying in Advent with the Nutcracker as it also has four very important lessons within it.

Our first sermon is Sunday, December 2nd. This Sermon is about, “Clara Waiting for Christmas.” It’s focus is on the great excitement of adolescence vs. adult-hood, Christmas traditions and receiving gifts.

Our second sermon is Sunday, December 9th. Our sermon is called, “Dosselmeir: A Godfather’s Love.” We will talk about Gods desire for us. God will stop at nothing to welcome us into his kingdom and offer us everything we need to welcome Christ into our lives.

Week 3 of Advent is Sunday, December 16th. The sermon is called, “The Mouse King: Changing Perspective.” We all see the world through different perspectives. What might seem small to you might be crucial for someone else.

Week 4 of Advent is Sunday, December 23rd. The sermon is called, “The Nutcracker: The Greatest Gift.” The Nutcracker is the gift in the story, representing Christ as God’s greatest gift to us.

Make plans to attend our services this holiday season. Services begin at 9:00 am and all are welcome!

Mt. Zion UMC is a church with a future!
Worship is a blend of contemporary and traditional. You will be welcomed by our greeters the minute you walk through the door, helping you feel right at home. Our casual service features familiar hymns and contemporary praise band music. Children’s church is available during worship service as well as a well-staffed nursery.
