Small Groups

Weekly Meetings

Lunch Bunch – This group meets every Monday from 11:00 to Noon. They will meet at church or at a local restaurant while studying the Bible or lesson.

Awana – This is a non-denominational kids club, staffed by leaders from our church, which focuses on learning through music, games, handbook and club time. The goal is to help children come to know, love, and serve our Lord Jesus Christ. There are three age groups within the club: Cubbies (3,4 and 5 year old preschoolers); Sparks (kindergarten through second grade); and T &Ts (third to sixth grade).

Torah Club – Meets every Friday at 1:00 pm. It is an advanced class that studies the Hebrew Bible, the first 5 Books of the Bible. It is intense and class can last 1-2 hours. If interested contact our Church office at 217-864-4835 to find out when you can join the group as you want to start at the beginning.

Bi-Monthly Meetings

Sew Happy Stitchers – meet the 2nd and 4th Mondays from 6:00 pm – 8:00 pm. The ladies bring their own sewing machines and work independently on various projects. From beginner to advanced sewers are welcome to join this group.

Monthly Meetings

Mt. Zion United Methodist Men – Meets Monthly on the third Saturday at 7:30 am. The group starts the morning off with a hearty breakfast, discuss and plan upcoming service projects, fundraising and field trips while combining it with devotions and prayer. It is open to all ages.

Mt. Zion United Methodist Ladies Book Club – If you enjoy reading a variety of Christian authors, this group is for you! They meet monthly on the third Thursday at 7:00 pm at a members’ home for fellowship, food, and discussion of a selected book of the month. The hostess chooses the book for everyone to read, and they spend time discussing it while enjoying dessert! This group has been together since 2008!
